Ok, i recentley put a second hard drive in my computer (little 6.4 gigger just for space) and it worked fine for about a month or so. recentely it decided to die. every time i pass the 4.5 gig mark on the hard drive (install anything that goes over 4.5 gigs used on the drive) its a total lock up then like 5 minuets later blue screen saying cannot write to drive. so i try to run scandisk and guess what! when it hits that part on the drive dead freeze. ive changed out cables, changed the ide channel and tried everything else i can think of. :| is this drive shot? thanks in advance Kamin

Who makes the drive? Most of the manufacturers have their own diagnostic utils. DL em and see what you get good news is unless its a really crappy company most 6.4GB HDs are still under warranty.

yeah sounds like a bad sector at the end of the drive, run some type of drive util like norton and have it "delete" that sector, you should be fine after that, also it was mentioned about dling the manufacturers drive util that will help too, and its problably free if you dont have norton.
