I'm hoping someone can shed some light on this issue. Last weekend, I installed Windows 98SE on a new machine with an IBM 30Gb hard disk. I have this hard disk partitioned into 3 parts (10gb, 10gb, 10gb+leftover).
I have not tried running scandisk on the first two partitions, but have tried it multiple times on the third. Scandisk does fine up to the near end, when it stops, hangs the machine, and the hard disk light just starts to slowly blink. I can't move the mouse or anything.
I've checked on Microsoft's knowledge base, but can't find anything close to this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated since I'd like to get a good test of these partitions done before I start to put a lot of data on them.
