Scan to desktop via IP

Here is the breakdown :

Everything was working fine in Windows 7.

User decides to upgrade to Windows 10.

Now the scan to desktop doesn't work via IP.

Is there anything I need to disable to get this working with the Windows 10?

I have tried disabling firewall but is there any other security settings that might need to be disabled?

Could it be possible that it might be a old SMB / firmware that is restricting connection?

Does the scanner device output any error?
How is "scan to desktop" implemented? Does it drop the files over ip on some local machine(pc) folder?
If so,
identify the appropriate folder - consult your network scanner settings,
check the folder's access permissions - the scanner should be allowed to write files to that location,
etc..

Things I'd check are whether the machine needs to have a scan client type of software installed. If it was present during the upgrade, uninstall and reinstall it then designate it for scan-to-folder. If it scans to a UNC SMB share, were the stored credentials of a local account and did 10 sucker anyone into converting to a Microsoft account?

Also, make sure you have a recent TWAIN driver that is good with Win 10.
