Scan times with recovery software

Is the scan doing a sector by sector read? I downloaded a free trial and it says the scan is going to take 56 hrs for 22TB. Doesn't look like I can recover anything until it's finished too.

What are you using?
Highly depends on the program.

What are you trying to do anyway? 22TB of data must mean at least 3 10TB HDs, or many more units for lower capacity drives.
Are these in a RAID array?

Did you accidentally delete a file, or, is this corruption?

Long story short, windows update forced a restart during an expansion. Expansion completed but volume is now showing as RAW. It's been scanning for over a day now and it's pretty much found the folders I want but no way to know yet if anything is recoverable cause it's still scanning and the recover button is grayed out.

I think I might try recovering or repairing the GPT partition table. I think it's what got corrupted or modified.

You should exercise control over when Windows restarts after an update. There is such an option.

Yep, I just forgot. Plus I've restarted a few times during rebuilds and it continued just fine so I thought it would too during an expansion.
