Scammed!

so last thursday, on another forum, somebody was asking for a cheap upgrade from their onboard audio, i suggested the audigy se, and stated i had one for sale, to pm me.

he did, we made a transaction, and sent me $24.00 via paypal.


i checked and told him, i will refund his money because he sent me an "e-check" or i will need to wait till it clears (which usually will be today-~5 business days) he stated he needed the card immediately, and asked if i had any exceptions, i've talk to the guy numerous times on the forum and thought he was a trust worth guy,so i took his info, along with phone # and sent the item. I WAS WRONG

I check my paypal today, wand whadya know, the little punk scammed me out of the $ and cancelled the e check via paypal.

he has since deleted me from his X-fire Buddylist, and /ignored me on the forum wih the numerous PM's i sent him.

i have his info, and im looking for some basic advice.


what should i do?

not trying to highjack your thread, but can someone cancel the echeck payment once its cleared? I've just shipped an item that paid with echeck that has been cleared and its in the process of transferring the money to my bank account.

somebody on the forum stated the kid is 14 and has done this under many diffrent aliases.

I know he received the card beacuse, tusdaynight he asked me for some help installing the card, and which drivers to use with windows vista. then he stated the card worked great and thanked me for the card.

I am a big principle person myself but $24 bucks isn't worth any kind of trouble caused by trying to get even. I would tell everyone that I knew about the ordeal but nothing above that.

His xfire account does say he's only 14 so maybe call his house see what the parents say about it. They might be interesting if he's been doing it to mutliple people.

Ask to speak to Brian is what I'd do.

There's a phone number publicly listed at that address. So it's probably under his parents' name. Call and ask to talk to Mr. or Mrs. Walsh. If Junior answers and wants to know what it's about, you can say it's a business transaction.

Tell the parent what Junior did, explain that you're sure they weren't aware of what he did and that you thought they would want to know about it, offer to supply proof, see if that doesn't get you your money.

after calling his phone over and over, the mother picked up, she said she had no idea that little quinn ACTUALLY 12 had acess to her paypal account, and will be sorting this out and giving me acall back within 20 minutes, lets see how this goes..
