That is true. However, I have seen many examples where the the auction looks like a normal auction, but somewhere hidden is super small text, like in the huge description, they will write: "the is just info about it" or something stupid.

i have seen ones like that. when i come across them i email the winner or higher bid to tell them. heh i have gotten a few thank you's and they retracted the bid. though i have had some people tell me to mind my own business. i just email em back laughint at them.
But on ones like the posted auction they deserve to get what they pay for. it tells you up front in easy to find print that it is for a web page. the guy is not trying ot scam anyone.

IF the Web page that he will "sell" you the address to is legit and the offer is valid, then it is not a scam.
IF the information is invalid, then it is a scam (one level down)
If the Web page address is not sent, then it is a full blown scam.

What? So you're saying that if you buy the ubiquitous new chevy for $199 a month with no money down you SHOULDNT be subject to the 19% APR, and 84 month term loan that the ad says at the bottom?

This is great! By reading some of the comments people have mentioned matrices. This is some kind of pyramid scam

Either that or he sells you the website that tells you to sell the website to 500 people and you can buy an LCD from them for $15 plus the $500 from selling the URL. LOL. The thing is people actually buy into these 'scams'.

No kidding. Seems to be at least one of these threads a week anymore about "scam" Ebay auctions. And even if the one linked to says in big, plain text that it's not selling an actual item, people always talk about "other" auctions that had "small" print.

Bottom line, there are always going to be scams in any marketplace. Caveat emptor, and if it seems like too good of a deal it probably is.

Sorry, I should have been more precise...I can't believe that people would fall for some scams like that...sorry about that...
