It sounds legit to me.

Which reminds me...the best dry cleaners I've ever found is across the border in a Mexican town called Cuidad Juarez. I drop off my clothes every Monday but often don't have time to pick them up, being so busy with work and all. If anyone is willing to run weekly errands to pick up my laundry, please let me know! I sweat a lot so it's usually enough clothes to fill up an SUV, but the dry cleaners is great, boxing everything in advance to make it really easy. For compensation, I'll let you stay in one of my unoccupied residences for free!

Old's usually has better grammar and spelling than that. :hmm: He must have had one of his 'guests' write it for him.

I'm looking for a place to stay in Dallas and registered on roommates.com (that site sucks, so don't use it). I get this email. My Scam Sense is tingling all over, but I thought I'd throw it on here just to get thoughts on it.

Hello,

I got your contact email address from roommates.com

My name is Frank Kent. I am 40 years old. I come to the states often
mostly for business purposes because i deal mostly in jewellry. I
supply watches, bracelets, wedding rings and jewellry to stores in the
states and europe.

Infact that is my family business because we are from the United
Kingdom. I bought a house last year in Texas because i love it there
.It is peaceful and with a loving neighbourhood. Unfortunately my
father passed away on the 2nd of September, 2011 and as the only child in
my family i have to go and take care of the family business back in
the UK and i realised that it will be very difficult to supply goods
to my customers again in the United states while am away and it will
definitely cost me a lot to come over to receive payments because they
pay mostly in checks and money orders .So to run the business from
there it will be difficult and will be impossible especially the
aspect of payment and i dont also want to loose my customers there,
So what i intend doing is that i am looking for some one to stay at my
house free of charge.I dont want to sell the house because i just
bought it.

I am simply looking for someone that is honest and trustworthy and
clean for two reasons 1. to maintain the house when i am away and 2.To
help me receive payments from my clients within the USA on my behalf
in his/her name and have it cashed cos they pay mostly checks and
money orders and have the funds wired to me here in the UK through
money gram transfer/western union
transfer . you dont have to pay me a dimme for the accommodation. its
just for the purpose of keeping my business going on in the United
state.and if you wanna keep this assignment as a job let me know so i
can allocate 10% on each payment that you receive that is if at all,
you dont wanna live in the house or if you are far from the house.

The house is a great one with clean bathrooms, walk in closet,A gym
,All rooms and living room furnished with electronics and very close
to any means of transportation .If you are interested in handling my
business in the state and keeping the house neat, send me an email

please send me your:

FRANK KENT

I suppose it could be legit, but seems too good to be true, and probably is.

While this could and probably is a scam, it's missing one purpose, and that purpose is to take money from you (given it's free rent). So it is odd someone would do a scam like that, which will greatly inconvenient the victim (not get the free house) but not actually take money away. So it is kinda odd.

I would not take any chances having any dealings with this person though. Better safe than sorry.

Though the same can be said for any internet dealing. Find apartment complexes, call them, get a room that way. For a place you will actually be living, best not to screw around.

he's sending you fake/stolen checks to put into your account. you then remove the cash and send it to him. when the bank finds out the checks are fake/stolen, you are out your own money.

Do scammers not have spell-checkers, grammar-checkers or friends who speak English?

When looking for apartments/houses, I get that email at least once.

Just tell him to fuck off and enjoy his sheep sex.

Yeah..I could only get through about 20 minutes of it.

I never said it was any good. The Untouchables is horrid: Let's rewrite history for a movie and make it LESS interesting!
