Trying to sell my car on autotrader. For 18900.00
after i said i would take 18500.00 this is the email that i get..

Much thanks for your mail as regards your vehicle înformation . I have forwarded your mail to my client and after evaluation ,I am delighted to tell you that my client has commended your vehicle,.

Payment will get to you in a cashier cheque of $25,500 which is a refund payment of a cancelled order earlier made by my client. Due to company policythis check has to be made out in this amount to you, because company policy only allows a refund payment on one cashier cheque. So you are required to deduct the cost of your vehicle $18,500 when payment gets to you and refund balance $7,000 to the shipper for him to be able to offset shipping & tax charges, and other cosmetic repair costs.

After payment has reached you and balance sent to shipper, the shipper's agent will come for inspection, pick up (vehicle & signing of title papers), make some cosmetic touches and drive to a prepaid shipper to be shipped to my customer. Confirm this and forward your Names, Address and Phone number for payment to be made to you as soon as possible. Your honesty, understanding and co-operation will be highly appreciated.

Best regards,

Yep, it's a scam.

Email him back and offer to take the check and keep the extra $7k.

blatantly obvious scam. It is now your duty as a netizen to bait the fvcker for as long as possible and post the results here. But then if you need to ask if that's a scam you likely lack the skills necessary to successfully bait him but hey it's worth a try, I suppose.

hehe that's awesome. But sometimes it's a fake pic the scammer has of someone else.
