Im pretty sure the ONLY way they can tell if you are actually reading the emails is if you click links in them, cause i dont think theres a way they can tell if you simply open the emails. and those links could very well contain adware or spyware

You've obviously never heard of webbugs, invisible 1x1 pixel images that can be used to track whether you have read an email or not
