SCAM: BMW X5

Aimster

Lifer
There was an AD for an X5 for $15,000. I emailed the guy and I asked him why it was so cheap:

He wrote back:

I will tell you a few words about the car..
The car is as good as new so you don't have to worry. Here are the most
important details about the car :
- US car ( US model , US specs )
- odometer in Miles , speedometer in Miles per Hour ( MPH )
This car meets all Environmental Regulations in the USA ( DOT , EPA ) .
It has a clear title issued in US and it can be registred anytime under
your name without a problem.
It's absolutely perfect ,it has a clear title ,has never been repaired ,
never been
involved in any type of accident or had any paint or body work done!
It was my father-in-law car.The reason I'm selling it is because my
father-in-law
died two weeks ago.
The car is now in London(United Kingdom) as my father-in-law lived
there.I am now here as i took care of the funerals.
Here in United Kingdom, the European specs are different
from the American ones and it costs me too much driving this car legally
here
and also there is nobody interested in buying it here.
In addition, the car's steering is on the left like in the US but english
cars
have steering on the right that's why I am selling it so cheap hoping to
find a buyer
in the US where it belongs.I inquired and the best and fastest way I can
ship
with is using Lufthansa Air Cargo and it takes between 4-6 days to arrive at
your door.
I have no use for the car and I want to get back home as soon as i sell
it,so I am willing to pay the shipping fees and insurance nomatter of the
location.
You will get the car with proper custom papers, clear title, bill of sale
signed by me as well,so if you agree with the price we can start the
arrangements at this point.
I'm a serious seller and a fair trader and I prefer to deal only with a
serious buyer. If you consider yourself one please e-mail me back so we can
start our deal.

My best wishes and I'm waiting your response!

So I want to mess with him. What do I do?

You stop being such a douchebag, take all that extra time you have and do something productive...no, masquerading as an ugly old fat guy on the internet doesn't count.

If you care so much about my life then ask your parents to help me out as well.

Buy me the X5.

Thanks.

It's one thing to get scammed, it's another to go out looking for one. This is YANST - Yet Another Nigerian Scammer Thread.

I don't care if he's from London, Madrid, Rio, or South Africa. You guys are so lame posting these. "oh look, I got a scam email, how can I mess with this guy?"

You even one up it by LOOKING for scams on CL.

I would never, ever discourage someone from scamming a scammer.

The sooner those parasitic slugs realize they are taking their chances when they try to run a scam, the less likely they are to scam...

LOL, I guess that's a no. How is the ride btw?

I got the SAME email when I was looking for a G35 on CL. The mail is exactly the same.

I told the guy that my sis lives in London and can check the car out for me. The guy of course replied back that the car was all packed up and wasn't available for inspection.

Some bastard probably keyed it because he got stiffed on his tip from delivering pizza. :|

Aimster is never going to live that one down is he?

I wouldn't have brought it up if it wasn't the same kind of car. 😀
