Scaling Component Video...

For whatever reason, I run my computer in my bedroom on my 32" Phillips SDTV. I recently got the DVI - Component adapter so I could enjoy that beautiful component-video image, and it certainly does look better than the S-Video solution that comes with the 9800 Pro. There is one little problem, however - I can't get a resolution over 630x430 to fit my screen...

That leads me to my question... Of course I can edit the .cfg files for all my games to get them to run at this unheard of resolution, but it's such a big resolution that the games just look terrible... Is there any possible way to scale a 1024x768 image to fit my TV like it automatically does when I use the S-Video?

Any info appreciated, thanks!

Is there anyone anywhere with an answer? I originally posted this in HT because this seems to be more than a simple video issue, but the mods apparently felt the need to move it...

I still think you'd have better luck simply using s-video. After you downscale 1024x768 to 480i and output it, its not going to look a whole lot better than 1024x768 downscaled to 480i and just using the tv-out.

The big difference is that the s-video is already condfigured to work, while component is going to require some custom timings.

Have you posted at AVS HTPC forum ? If theres a way to do it, somebody will know there.
