SC2 login problem...

Hi everyone. I didn't know where else to post this as it's more of a tech support question, but....I just installed SC2 again because I had to reinstall XP SP3 onto this machine. After downloading all the updates, installing all drivers, etc. I installed SC2 and I can't even log into BNet. I type in my name, then SC2 just freezes and does nothing (in which I just open task manager and end the process). I tried looking for some random culprits. It's not my firewall, it's not DEP, and it's not cause my computer can't handle it (seeing as I upgraded recently to play it better). Any ideas?

Also, while I did DL this off Blizz's website since I had already activated it, the DL was REALLY slow and maybe might have been messed up, so I used the "repair" tool to see if anything was wrong with the installation and nothing was wrong.

no idea what could be going on, did you try blizzard's tech support?
 
That sucks man. You just got the game, installed it, ready to play and this crap happens.

The problem though, is that I'm assuming you haven't created a profile/char yet since you can't even log on, so you will not be able to post anything. Perhaps you can browse it and find someone w/ similar issues.
 
Did you have it working fine before? Might check router and Windows firewall ports to be sure all the ones needed for SC2 are being forwarded.

I doubt that is it, because he had to "reinstall" the game. Which means he may have created the profile/char on the first install.

Yeah, I've already played the game before the new patch came out, but I was playing it on W7 64 bit. I installed XP onto it cause of PCI wireless issues, but the new patch already came out. It's not working right now 🙁
 
I am having the same exact problem after downloading the new patch. I am running on XP Professional. I haven't reinstalled because the game works just fine on my computer. I honestly think its the patch because it runs just fine until I downloaded the new patch. Now when I hit enter after typing in my email address, the game just freezes.
