SC2: Heart of the Swarm Teaser

Yeah, that was quite weak - much like the story for SC2.

I really enjoyed the campaign of SC2, but the story part was just a huge step backwards from the original game, in my opinion.

I don't expect much from the SC2 single player story anymore

Blizzard really dropped the ball when they decided to make the Raynor/Kerrigan love relationship when they were never even close to that point in SC1/BW

If you cheated through the missions, you missed a lot of the in-mission dialogue that built up their relationship.

that stuff was either flirting or just being sympathetic to whatever someone was saying

Raynor already went through a phase of wanting to save Kerrigan in SC1/BW and eventually concluded that Kerrigan was beyond saving and said he would kill her

It's a little weak for a teaser isn't it?

Oh well, I'll get the game anyway, teased or not!

wings of freedom had such a terrible story. however, there's still time to right the ship. despite sales numbers, i hope someone at blizz (*cough* chris metzen), caught onto the fact that the writing was terrible for the first installment and gets some outside input on where the plot should be taken.

Trailer was good, but not good enough to purchase the instalment. I'm still sticking to my original idea: Wait until the battle chest is released with all three instalments.

Watching those interviews and panels from BlizzCon, it's easy to tell, that if anyone has lost track of what the hell is going on with the stories and characters in the various Blizzard franchises, it's Christ Metzen.

I'm happy they're coming up with something new for their next MMO 😛

You sound like someone talking about Star Wars episode one. I kind of agree though the story was really weak; I think the whole bouncing from planet to planet doing odd jobs really took away from the feel of it besides the writing.

Wings of freedom? lol

This game is pure gold. Any story is just icing on the cake. Name 1 other modern RTS with this level of competitive gameplay and I will gladly give it a shot.

Yeah, SC2 had a really weak story, and I don't think any of the rest of the trilogy would be better, especially after reviewing some of the leaked scenes and storyboards.

But the actual campaign was really good - better gameplay wise than SC1 I'd say.

Looks like they deliver where it matters.

I don't expect better from the next, either. They obviously have the entire story figured out already, but I'll still get the game, since I had a lot of fun with the first installment.

Played the gamepaign twice. First on hard, and then brutal to get every single achievement.

Then around 200 hours worth of multiplayer with friends. Yeah, I think I got my moneys worth (even though I bought both the European and US versions)

Great game. Can't put my finger on anything besides the weak story.

Seems the campaign, story and lore just isn't that high priority. It's about eSports, balance and smooth multiplayer. I'm alright with that, because I think that's where most people will be spending the majority of their time with a game like this.

I'd say the biggest difference between the stories in SC1 and SC2 are mostly because of how they focused on a single character (Raynor) rather than the events taking place (which may have included Raynor). That may have been okay, but the entire game was Raynor lamenting over Kerrigan :\.

That is my plan. I just don't have an itch to play SC2 when I am more then happy with other RTS's atm.

The story was never meant to be Shakespere or Asimov guys. The voice acting was good, and the plot was epic enough to keep me interested. Now stop harshing my mellow, I want to watch Raynor fuck Kerrigan and blow up more zerg shit. 😀
