SC2: Arcade live but long setup time

If you plan on playing Starcraft 2 in the recent future, you should run the update when you have free time. It took me about 40 mins for the new UI install and optimization. Sucks when you want to play but can't. Hope this helps others avoid that.

I have SC2 installed on a SSD, so it only took me about five minutes. I saw similar times when WoW performed the same optimization routine. I could imagine it being a bit nasty on a mechanical hard drive since I assume it performs a few random writes.

well first part is small around 90mb..

but second part is 1.5gb :p

Yeah... the patch took almost as long as the entire optimizing portion. :p

Although, the whole thing took a bit longer for me, because I haven't played in awhile, and I still had to update to 1.4.4! :eek:

I don't think that would work too well...

?? The ability to not rejoin after being DC'd was a very big oversight on Blizzards part. I quit playing because of this. I'm not really talking about 1v1's, but team games. DC's happened way too often and pretty much ruined games.

seeing as you resources are split with you team when you disconnect, not much point coming back. In 3v3 games, having one guy drop 2 min into the map is not bad since it's like you have 2 guys with 1/2 expansion each. As long as they use the extra resources, they can keep pace with a team of 3 until the unit cap.
