sbs2003 - my docs redirection for just a few users

hi,
i'd like to setup folder redirection, but just for some specific users. From the user settings page, i only have the option to configure my docs redireciton for everyone which i don't want.
i've actually made my own GPO for folder redirection.
heres how i did it:
1. expand domain, right click GPO, select new... name it
2. right click folder redirect policy (the gpo i made), click edit, expand user configuration then -> windows settings.
3. open folder redirection, right click desktop and select properties. i then configured it to create a folder for each user under "the root path" which i have specified as the shared folder UserData (so \\SBS\UserData).

The next step in the guide i follwed is to link this GPO to the domain by right clicking domain, then selecting Link an existing GPO. What i want to do is link it to just a few users. Can someone explain step-by-step how i do this? did i do alright so far or do i need to go backwards? i noticed that those steps only involve changing settings for "Desktop" -- is the my docs part configured alright or something?

In case you can't tell, i'm a newb.

thanks in advance.

If you want to redirect on a user-by-user basis then you have to edit each user directly. I wish I could tell you the directions but I'm not in front of my server right now. It's not too hard to find though, I'm sure you'll get it in 10 minutes.

can i do it with "Security Filtering?" on the GPO Scope tab i see an option to set security filtering. It is set for all authenticated users.. can i just remove that and add the user(S) i want? That would be nice🙂

when i remove "authenticated users" from the security filtering, it also removes it from delegation. what are the consequences of this? obviously they won't be able to read/see the GPO, but they shouldn't need to any way right?

Cant you make a new OU called "Redirected to XX Location" adn then apply the GPO to it, and place users in it, or possibly put the folks in a group, then put the group in the OU..

i would if i knew how
so the method described above won't work?

nvm: i tried it, and it works just fine.
