SBS Crash

I have a TyanB5151 with 2GB RAM and the Taro SATA RAID Controller card that wont stay up. It will run fine for a while and then give the "Hardware failure - contact your vendor" message with no log entries. Sometimes it'll crash after 30 seconds, sometimes it takes 30+ days. It's very unpredictable.

I have replaced everything in the system and then had the whole thing RMAed and I got the same error when trying to configure Windows on Friday.

It's running Windows SBS 2003 SP1.

The kicker is that I have an identical system running Windows Server 2003 Standard R2 that is completley stable.

I'm open to any and all suggestions - even if you think I've already tried them.

Thanks

Dave

What do you mean when you say you had the whole thing RMA'ed? Does that mean 100% new parts (cpu ram mobo HD PSU controller cables)?

If you did replace all those, then it might be your install of SBS is bad. If you are using an image to install, you might try a clean install. 🙁

Also, do you have it on a UPS? Maybe you are getting inconsistent or dirty power into the machine.

Or maybe it is overheating....

Just some thoughts.
