sbs 2003 r2 vs regular question

i need to purchase a standard edition of sbs 2003 and am faced with the choice between r2 and regular.
my main concern with r2 is the automatic update green check thing. will this force ms updates on client computers or is this feature optional (ie i can disable it)?

It's optional WSUS that you install separately. Like all WSUS, YOU decide what updates to install onto which clients and when to install them.
