ding ding ding
let the war begin (also just to make it interesting,Getting a mobo with via southbridge)

sblive x-gamer $76

Santa Cruz $70

I think all would have to agree that the x-gamer wins in the software catagory, but alot of people argue that the santa cruz sounds better and is more likely to be compatible with a via southbridge.

Let's hear some viewpoints!!!!

Santa Cruz definitely although i've had a SB live x-gamer 4.1 at 100% stable in Via KX133 chipset i would still recommend the Santa Cruz the live is just outdated technology IMO. I mean i remember seeing live cards back in 98 97 (when it was king) and the card has had almost know change except they make non platinums with 5.1 now.

You cant go wrong with santa cruz

The improvement in mp3's and cd's with the SC was amazing. It has a much cleaner sound and the stereo separation in incredible. I have NO feeling of loss over my Live X Gamer 5.1.

sblive xgamer!
I have an sblive xgamer with via mobo and it's scratchy sound sometimes..not too appealing..isn't TURTLE BEACH out of business? Or is that just a3d? If it isn't, I'll give this sblive xgamer to my sister and purchase a santa cruz.

<< Is $70 the cheapest you can get a santa cruz for??????????? >>

<< anybody on the cheaper than 70 bucks thing??????????? >>

Well, first off quit whining!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Secondly, of coarse we on the "the cheaper than 70 bucks thing" if it means a Santa Cruz for cheaper that $70 bucks.

Get a used one from the for sale forum. Otherwise quit complaining, the other sound card YOU listed to compare it to is more $$.
