Hi all:

my apoligies if this isn't the right forum ....

Tried to squeeze in some quake3 UT today. When i started playing I noticed that all the sounds were 1/2 sec delayed. Tried different quake3 settings to no avail.

Did a quick check and proceeded to update the sblive drivers.

Since then I have NO sound.

My system.
win2k with all updates directx8
p3-1ghz
gforce2 pro 64 mb
sblive value
256mb of ram.

tried about 10 different drivers incluidng liveware3 with no good results. Everything installs fine but there is no sound at all coming out.

Then 5 minutes ago, I had winamp running ( but not hearing anything ), and as I restarted just before win2k shut-down I heard my music !! So there must be a conflict in a program, right ?

Looked at the event logs -- and nothing. Tried using task manager to abort certain processes but no luck.

any ideas ?

oh, and the sound card works fine in WinMe.

thanks!
