I have SBLive! value in my system and just installed a CDRW drive. The sound card seems to only have 1 plug in for a cd drive. There are 3 plugs on the card- 1 labeled "cd in", 1 labeled "TAP" and another labeled "Aux in". The only one that works with either drive is the "CD in". How can I get CD's to play on the other drive? There must be some way to have both Cd drives be able to play without switching the plugs.

you should have no problem plugging 2 cd-rom's into a live! card...but you probably don't hear sound out of the one going into "aux" because that input is not turned on or muted in the liveware control panel. you ARE running liveware 3.0 right? i personally have 2 cd-roms plugged into my sblive! platinum w/ no problem.

btw..the TAP input is usually used for a modem i believe.

Call me a jacka$$- the volume control for AUX-In was muted on the panel. Glad it was that easy. Sometimes the simple things get overlooked.

Simple things get overlooked, yes. However, because we depend on computers to do everything there are about 10^100 different places to look for every single problem.

Building a computer from scratch can be a very satisfying thing, but when it screws up it frusturates you to no end. When really bad crashes occur on my computer (hdd physical error, can't boot up, etc.) I literally can't sleep until I solve the problem.

Isn't it wonderful when the fix is just a click away! Know what you mean about that sleep problem AncientPC. I sometimes laugh at myself when I realize several days later how obsessed I was with getting something to work. But hey, it seems nowadays you're not allowed much time to return items without paying some kind of penalty.
