SBLive/Santa Cruz...need some advice pls.

Howdy all! I need a piece of advice. First off, my system specs:

AMD TB900 MhZ
Abit KT7a Mb w/ Latest ZT BIOS and 4.32v(a) 4in1 drivers
Geforce2 GTS Pro with 12.41 WHQL drivers (or is it 12.42?)
Turtle Beach Santa Cruz sound, updated to latest drivers
512 MB PC133 RAM
56K Lucent tech modem (old modem, newest drivers)
WD 7200 30 Gig HD
LG 52x Cd-Rom

Now, here?s my issue:
I have a SBLive that I removed from my system, as my KT133a chipset (or somesuch name) was having major issues with my SoundBlaster Live card (and we all know how new the latest SB drivers are). Now, the fixes I have researched over the various boards across the net for the SBLive issue amount to as much as juggling five burning torches on one foot blindfolded, so I decided to go the easy way out and buy a Turtle Beach sound card. (I did try to unconfigure the whole IRQ ACPI settings, but those boys are tough to disable?plus in Win98 SE it is less of a problem)

So far, I like the card?the interface seems nicer to play with, the sound equal to or better than my SBLive, and near as I can see the customer support seems to be better. Plus, I kinda like the whole underdog thing. Anyways, the problem is simply DX8. (Yes, I read the SC FAQ and know they recommend DX7.0a, but I simply disabled DirectSound and pushed the acceleration down to minimum in the DXDiag box rather than try to uninstall DX8, even with the Dxuninstaler program I downloaded)

Now, I do NOT want to have to go through the severe pain of putting my SBLive back in and juggling those torches, so my question is simple enough:

Will the SC tech support develop a driver that will work with DX8? Normally, it wouldn?t be much of an issue, but without DX8 playing the newest and best games will become increasingly difficult. (I have High Heat 2k2 and will be on Anarchy online soon, both of which require DX8.0)And at some point, I will want to reenable things like 3d sound/directsound, etc.

If NOT, what configuration would work best for me should I decide to temp the fates, bite the bullet, and reinstall my SBLive!?

Please respond. =)

Thanks in advance.
