I just bought an audigy2 card and noticed that a digital IO extension card (Hoontech) cannot be used to produce a fiberoptic signal. Would the SBLive setup have better sound or should I scrap my Hoontech optical solution?
I have a SBLive (ct4830) and a Hoontech SB DB III myself. It's collecting dust in my closet at the present. The Audigy2 still sounds much better despite lack of coax or DAT output. I'd say sell it off or save it for another machine.
