Check my system rig for details, I finally got it all working properly in windows 2000. It rules now, but it wasn't always the case, I had 2 problems with it. On my old via apollo133 motherboard (with the 596 south bridge) direct music would never work, in either dx7 or 8. It would play, but play too fast and start skipping. I couldn't hook up my piano keyboard and record any midi with it. Getting the SH6 fixed that one though.

My big gripe is;

The plugs on the back are too close together, I have it hooked up to my dolby digital ready reciever for 5.1 channel output, which requires 3 1/4" to RCA connectors. The problem is, they are so close together, I don't have any room to hook up my microphone. Anybody else have this problem?

I havent had many problems with the Soundblaster Live! Value card that I have, but my biggest gripe would have to be that in most games that I play that require alot of hard drive or CDROM access...I get massive amounts of static, clicking, etc...and its very frustrating! 🙁 Ah well...it works in most things 🙂

The SBLive Value card in my system works fine with the exception of when I tried to install a network card. Beautiful sound. Disabled the SB-16 Emulation driver installed the network card and system would not recognize the network card no matter what PCI slot I tried. Tested Netgear, Linksys and 3Com cards. Removed the SBLive and it recognized all cards instantly. Put the SBLive back in and no go.

Talk about frustration. I updated the BIOS for CUSL2, have the latest drivers from Creative and the latest drivers from Intel for the i815E chip set. Never did figure what the problem was, so took the cards back.

If anyone has any other ideas, I might give it one final shot though.

Thanks.
