sblive 5.1 and static with usb - kt133 or sb live fault, or both?

i have a msi k7t pro2a and i've been having slight static ever since i put the computer together. whenever i used my usb scanner or usb zip drive, it would increase the static whenever audio was being played. i realized all the static is completely gone when i remove everything from my usb ports. i was planning to buy a new sound card to replace the sb live due to the static but now i'm not so sure. so i'm wondering if anyone else experiences this problem and if its going to occur with another sound card or if its just something with the sb live. thanks.
