Many games seem to support 4 channel sound .. is the sblive 5.1 able to emulate this and send the appropriate data to the center channel and subwoofer?

(I know the fps2000 will take a 4 channel input and send the bass into the subwoofer, but i'm switching to a home theater system with 5.1 analog inputs and want to make sure a 5.1 card will have some use before i buy one to replace my sblive value)..

has anybody else tried this?

[edit] well now it looks like i should get a turtle beach santa cruz instead of sblive 5.1.. hm. i hope it works in windows 2000
(my main requirements are 5.1 analog output for games and win2k compatibility)

I'd like to know this to...I'm pretty sure that an X-Gamer can output through 5.1 analog or the miniDIN in 5.1 mode and it will fill in the center channel/sub for you from the 4 channels the games give...but I'd like to know for sure.

oh i forgot another thing that really annoyed me about sblive..
when i use the analog output from my value, it will only play wav files and whatever external source is selected as my recording device; i.e. if i'm using my mic to talk to someone, i cannot listen to a CD.
also, while i'm listening to a CD, the line-in doesn't get output

does anybody know if the 5.1 fixes this?? (i assume not.)
or whether the turtle beach card also has this problem?

the 3rd thing is that I read that the turtle beach will not filter out high frequencies in its subwoofer output. is this true, and does that affect the sound quality of the subwoofer?
