No, I just read his blog every morning when I check out the front page news. He appreciates the input from site members, and I thought it big news that he get stopped by the SBI.

See I wanted to post about this in OT first, since I felt you guys would get the bigger kick out of it (and I hadn't seen any Yet Another I've Been Stopped by the SBI for Looking Like a Terrorist threads) but I figured that it would maybe make its way over here. Thanks GT 🙂

I need to post an updated picture, because we really really don't look anything alike now (that picture was horribly taken at the last minute to avoid a big black box going in its place on the new site)...although I have grown a beard...

Well, he said they were pretty lax about it. It probably would've just made everything even more uncomfortable if he played hardass with them. In those kinds of situations, you just kinda go with the flow. If it was obvious to them that they had the wrong person, and were just doing their job.. it's better to be cool about it.

Although, I can certainly understand being offended. It would just totally depend on the attitudes of the law enforcement officers. It sounds like they were pretty good about it though, so kudos to them for handling it well. I'm sure he would be singing a different tune if they had actually treated him like a terrorist.

His country didn't suspect him, some yokel who probably thinks all people of middle easterner descent are terrorists called in to report him. The SBI was just doing their job by following up and I think they did it well.
