I was wondering if you guys who signed up recently on their new 14.95 a month deal got a new modem or used/remanufactured modem?

Brand new. My DSL was supposed to be activated on June 9. Still don't have it...maybe tomorrow.

The one I got was new. They also charged me $99 for it which really sucks. Now I have to compain and maybe get that taken off my bill.

There is supposed to be a rebate on it.

Just called and got that issue fixed and they were really nice about it. Yes, there should be a credit for the modem.

Sorry to get the thread off topic.

The modem does work well and I haven't had any problems with it. I'm also using a cheap Airlink router and use it start the PPOE connection and I've been up for over a week with no problems so far.
My speeds are good too, I'm getting about 1.3 Mbit which is about as good as it gets for the 1.5 service. The rest I'm told is for the overheard on the line.
