Hi everyone,
Have had SBC Yahoo DSL working flawlessly for 3 months. I disable PPPoE on my Speedstream 5100 modem and activate it on my D-Link DI-604 router, login with the @sbcglobal.net user name and password and everything worked fine.
Last night they had a blackout in my area so things weren't working. This morning I called them and they walked me through re-enabling PPPoE on my modem and connecting that way, just modem to 1 PC. That's how I'm connected now. However I'd obvioulsy like to share the connection with the other 2 PCs in my house.
When I enable it on my router and take it off the modem, it says the PPPoE is connected, I get a WAN IP address, a default gateway, and 2 DNS servers, just like it normally would. However there is no Internet light on the modem (not sure if it's always like that) and I have no connectivity.
However, I left my router on top of the back of my tv in my room which was on all night. Would this permanently damage the router?
TIA guys,
Tim
