SBC help...slow

i've had SBC Yahoo DSL for a while now and just recently i started experiencing very slow connections. this only happens when i type in an address or click on one of my faves. basically whenever i navigate to another site. if i click on a link or stay within the same site everything is up to speed. if i try to DL something using Outlook Express or 'right click -> save as' it will take approx 15 sec to connect. after that the DL is fine and smooth. i have a 2Wire Homeportal 1000SW modem that came with the DSL package and im also using a Microsoft MN-700 wireless router. i've tried unpluggin the modem to reset it but that only fixes it temporarily. the problem will come back within minutes. any help is appreciated. thanks

i have SBC Yahoo too. sometimes i get some major slowdowns like it takes 5 mins just to open the homepage, but those are usually when SBC is under repair. do you use the little rocket ship internet icon? I found that if i manually connect, it usually always has a great connection. maybe something to do with those CFD.exe program or something

i used to use the 2Wire software. it doesnt look anything like a rocket ship, its a red 2. the service is always on i dont have to login or anything. what is this CFD.exe program you're talking about? i dont see it in my task manager? i just got back from work and everything seems perfectly fine right now. dont know if it was due to maintenance but i've been experiencing the slow connection for the past couple weeks straight.

Don't waste time trying to figure this out yourself. Get a service tech out.
