SB6183 white vs black

Hi everyone, happy holidays. Is there a difference between the white and black one? You can get either color from Amazon. I wonder why most places have the white one but not the black one. Was also wondering if anyone knew if the price of this modem would drop since DOCSIS 3.1 modems are coming out now.Thank you.

Yeah, there is a diffidence the white is made of plastic that while manufactured a white pigment was put in.

In contrast the Black plastic has a black pigment.

Networking wise there is No difference.

Maybe they sold out on the black ones? No one cares about the colour of the cable modem since it is usually out of sight.

There was some talk about the prior models, and white / black being indicative of 'rental' vs. 'retail'.

I'm not goth so I bought the white version. It goes better with my wardrobe.
