i've yet to see anyone complain about their game theater xp, but half the people who own a creative complain about it and some sort of problem, especially under via win2k (i'm one of them). that alone should tell you something. it's not the card itself, i think it depends a lot on your setup and personal preferences, you're either going to love it or hate it. i'm trading it off for a hercules xp as we speak (just packed up my sblive plat 5.1, sending it out tomm), i don't suspect i'll have any problems setting it up as much as i did w/ my creative on win2k at least.

Dually have you even used a Santa Cruz or Hercules? Matter of fact Herlules is far from new to the soundcard game. then been in the game for quite awile with the Muse and their Studio sound card the Isis Xl since 99 here, so what do you really know about cards?

i remember guillemont(sp?) when they sent anand that OLD soundcard... he reviewed it and was amazed by its ability to play mp3's and doom or quake 🙂 or something to that extent.. it was a long time ago 🙂 So they aren't quite all that new.

Lets just put it this way... I've (yet) to see one person go to the Herc GTXP from any SB Live card of any kind and want to go back. Most if not all, also speak the joys of the card and usually end it with something like ... "glad I changed".

What's the lowest price on the Herc Game Theater XP retail?
If anyone knows of a price lower than $120 on Pricewatch, please post it.
Thanks!

Well...i know i had a bunch of problems with SB Live on my older system cuz some compatibility issues with the 686B via and the SB...but in addition to that...i've seen many ppl here in the forums recommend the GTXP over the SB. Turtle beach is a good card too.
