Did anybody successfully connected this card to the receiver yet?
I'm trying to use mini jack adapter (radio shack) to analog with analog cables going to receiver and doesnt work.
I know creative labs is selling special cables for this connection, but for games I should be ok with analog cables.

The computer speakers and headphones work great on it, so I think I'm missing a setting somewhere.

Same analog hookups as all Creative 7.1 cards. There is a nice ring out guide on their site. For 5.1 its 3x standard 3.5mm stereo din to stereo rca. for 6.1/7.1 you will need 2x 4 conductor 3.5mm to 3 rca, called camcorder audio/video cables; as well as one of the 3.5mm stereo to stereo rca cables.

As far as changing audio settings they should be done under the creative control panel application under speaker settings. Since I am not sure how you are trying to set all of this up I really can't help you more. Are you trying to use just one set of audio outs, or trying to use the reciever's multi-in, which in that case might require you to turn the input to it since the multi-in usally bypasses the reciever's dsp. If you are using the multi-in make sure to turn on subwoofer redirection or else you will have no sound on the sub. Also if you are using a two speaker setup, do not use the multi-in, use a standard input.

I will try to use the one set of audio out cables. Would I see difference in using multi-in cables with games? I just want to connect the pc ocassionally to the 50'' hdtv and have sound coming through HK 7.1 receiver ( 5.1 output will be good enough). Will the analog set up split the sound to the rear speakers like it does with the pc 5.1 speakers?

If you use the 5.1 input with subredirection(if you have a sub) and select 5.1 in your audio control panel you will get sound coming from all your speakers if the game supports it, there are a few games that even support 7.1 :)

For occasional use it might be easier just to use a 2 channel input, but its your choice :)
