SB Live Win XP

Having trouble getting audio from SB Live to Boston Acoustics digital speakers on a friend's computer with a fresh install of Win XP Home...upgraded drivers from Creative's website, up to date on Windows Update. All drivers appear to be installed correctly, everything is there in Device Manager. Already tried uninstalling sound card and redetecting...no luck. Also tried changing PCI slots. As I remember, with my old SB Live 5.1, I used to have audio even before the Win XP installation had finished.

System:
Gateway AMD Athlon 1.1 G
256 MB
SB Live!
Boston Acoustics Digital
DVD-ROM
CD-RW
IDE HDD

Any ideas? I dont have much experience with the digital speakers...are there any special settings required to enable digital out? And the speaker cable is connected to the green output jack. Is this correct? He doesn't have the documentation.

I appreciate any suggestions.

The green output jack is the standard audio-out, i think. Digital is usually black, but check soundblaster.com for an online user guide. to enable digital audio, you need to either go through the Creative Speaker setup in the AudioHQ, or if you don't have that installed, then go into the Play Control (double-click on the speaker icon on the task bar), choose "advanced," and hit the "digital output" check box.

hope that helps
