SB Live! Value (CT4830) vs. the SB Live 5.1=both w/ digital out

I think the CT4830 is the one with the Yellow mini-jack digital out. The old revision only have a molex type digital connector. Anyhow, what is the difference between the newer Live! value w/ digital out and the SB Live! 5.1 cards other than software?

On Soundblaster.com it says NO to 5.1 on the live value. If that's the case, then why did they add a digital out on the newer revision value cards?

id like to know this also. i have a live value in my system right now and grabbed a 5.1 mp3+ from staples since it was only $20 and cant decide what to do. i have the cambridge soundworks (2 satellites and a sub) right now. dont know if i should put the new 5.1 in or just keep the value and fleabay the 5.1

what exactly does the 5.1 do that the value doesnt?

I am thinking that it's possible the Live! 5.1 will decode the AC-3 signal without having to hook up to an external decoder.....

I guess the main reason I am trying to find this answer is because a customer of mine is using the SB Live! Value w/ digital out (not the 5.1) and has the DTT2200 speakers. He says when he is watching a DVD using WinDVD 3.0 he is not getting true Dolby Digital. I haven't had a chance to go over and see his connections or listen to the sound.
