SB Live Platinum Problems!! Please help!

Ok, I have a little question for the experts out there. It seems that i get a little hiss in my headphones when the "digital audio output" ISN'T checked. When i check it, the hiss disappears. I heard somewhere that by checking digital audio output, that the 3d EAX effects wouldn't work correctly. I am only using headphones right now so does anybody know if this would affect eax on my headphones?

Hey...I've got a platinum...and this brings up a question. I realized that I started getting static when I disconnected my sp/dif cable...and I don't remember where the digital out check-box is. Could you tell me...I haven't messed around w/my settings since last summer, and I don't remember.

yeah, go into the volume control and its in the advanced options.
