SB Live or SB Audigy not working with my M2N32-SLI

I recently upgraded from an A8N-SLI deluxe, a64 3000+ and 6600gt to my new system which consists of the M2n32-SLI, X2 5600+, 7950GX2.

Im running windows xp 32-bit and have all of the latest drivers installed.

I wanted to use my existing Audigy (original) with this system, so I installed it and installed the drivers. It detected and installed everything just fine, but I don't get any sound. Obviously I've checked the connectors, etc, made sure that digital out only was off, etc. The card works fine in another comp. Curiously, I tried to install an even older SB Live, which had the same exact symptoms. Thinking it was maybe a bad motherboard (i bought it used) i put in an even OLDER sound card, an Aureal Vortex 2, and it works fine. I couldn't find anything on the net - any ideas (aside from upgrading, i'll just use the onboard sound for now if I have to)

edit: i did try reinstalling windows as well which didnt help. I have the latest bios, and didn't see any settings in there that would affect it (onboard is disabled)

Out of curiosity, is there a reason you want to use the Audigy vs the on board audio? If I'm not mistaken doesn't that mobo have 8 channel audio?

I think in this case (being as wonderful as Creative is with their drivers...) it would probably be easier to stick with the on board audio. It's probably got fairly close audio to the Audigy. (Unless you are an audiophile that can tell the difference between minute changes in sound quality)

Pretty much if the mobo doesn't have some feature that the Audigy has (hardware wise (optical in/out, 6 audio ports, etc)) then I'd pursue the Audigy. Out of curosity, what happens when you play audio? Nothing at all? Computer says it's playing but nothing comes out the speakers? What happens if you CRANK the volume on the speakers up? Can you hear anything or is it just the white noise/ speaker buzz?
