SB Live Killing my System!

People, After making the mistake of installing all 25MB of the SB Live 'software', my system refuses to boot up beyond the cursor and wallpaper. It also takes at least 5 minutes to get to that nonfunctioning point. I can not find a remove for the SB Liveware in win98SE add/remove programs. Does anyone have any suggestions? Do I need to go into the startup software and take SB out of the configuration sw? I have an asus socket a, my Duron has been put back to default 650MHz, IBM Deskstar 30G, 390MB Cas 2 memory, asus GeForce MX. I deleted the ATA100 promise sw in the event it was causing problems, and I have my video adapter back to default in order to install the MX. Real mess eh? Any help would be appreciated and direction to another forum if applicable. Basically I'd like to get back in Win98 without reformating.

Have you tried booting in safe mode? Assuming you can, you can remove the drivers by going into your device manager. There are other files, however, that you have to manually delete - in the windows\system directory and in the \inf directory. I suggest you call Creative Labs' tech support. They will take you through the steps and tell you which files to manually delete.

uninstall the live drivers from windows and a box should popup asking you which individual packages you want to uninstall for the live card, then click off all the crap and try and reboot.
 
do you have onboard sound, if you do did you disable on the mb and in bios,
also boot into safe mode disable start up of all the live programs, you can start them
when you need them
