Having trouble getting audio from SB Live to Boston Acoustics digital speakers on a friend's computer with a fresh install of Win XP Home...upgraded drivers from Creative's website, up to date on Windows Update. All drivers appear to be installed correctly, everything is there in Device Manager. Already tried uninstalling sound card and redetecting...no luck. Also tried changing PCI slots. As I remember, with my old SB Live 5.1, I used to have audio even before the Win XP installation had finished.

System:
Gateway AMD Athlon 1.1 G
256 MB
SB Live!
Boston Acoustics Digital
DVD-ROM
CD-RW
IDE HDD

Any ideas? I dont have much experience with the digital speakers...are there any special settings required to enable digital out? And the speaker cable is connected to the green output jack. Is this correct? He doesn't have the documentation.

I appreciate any suggestions.

Yes, you must open the icon in your system tray for the audio. (The Speaker icon) From there, go to Options | Advance Controls. Under the Play Control, farthest control to the left, click the advanced button. On the bottom of the window, you should see an option that says, Digital Output Only. Check that, and you should be in business.

PM me if you have any questions about the procedure.

Good luck!
