SB Live and WinXP (urgent)

I have run the windows update to get the drivers for this card, but it keeps going about half way and saying data is corrupt. I have tried NUMEROUS times to download it again, and it is having the same results. I think it is chocking on stream.sys but that really doesn't make any sense because that file isn't included in the drivers from windows update. Does anyone have any ideas... I really wanna like this os, but without sound.. it isn't any fun.

I have SBLive Value and so far no problems with sound in XP. The xp drivers don't work on yours?

go to creativelabs.com to get the update yourself. Don't mess with windows update if it doesn't work for you, or try dling only that file first.

I have XP and SBL 5.1 X-Gamer and they run just fine before the update even!!

clear out your temp internet folders and try it again. should work.

I've cleared out my temp files twice and it still hasn't work. Creative doesn't have the updates posted yet either... Grr....

the xp sblive driver should be out any time now according from sblive.com

i suggest you just wait for it
