SB Live and Optical ability?????!?!

Does the nwe Live drive II have optical ability?
Im looking at a Minidisk player that has only a optical in.
And i dont really want a USB connection (blah for usb).
Anyone have any info on this.

Get a soundcard with optical out - AOpen AW744 Pro is only $25 (look for it on pricewatch) and it's an excellent card unless you are a die-hard gamer.

The Live!Drive II, and the Live!Drive IR (included in the 5.1 platinum) both have optical out.

You could also save some money, and buy an add on card for your SB Live! or Live! Value from Hoontech.com

I actually own the AW744Pro card that was recommended and cannot say enough good things about it. I spent $33 on this card, shipped, when my roommate spend $175 on his Creative Live Platinum 5.1. I'm happier with this card than his. I can directly output the sound optically to my Denon receiver and the sound quality ROCKS. You can also use the optical as an input if you wish to.
