SB Live! 5.1 - SB16 Emulation question...

Hi,

Can anyone explain what SB16 emulation is used for? Is this for DOS support? Also, why does it need another of my precious IRQ's? Currently, I have it disabled, but I would like to understand this better.

SB16 emulation is for older dos games and such. It will share irq 7 with lpt1 if you use device manager, creative misc dev, properties, check share irq box. Or you can disable all together by using "disable in this hardware profile"

Is there some way I can change the way device manager shows the disabled Emulation up, everytime I open Device Manager? It always comes up expanded.

Unless you are actually using I would say leave it Disabled.

I leave mine disable because it always wants to grab the same IRQ as my network card!

Why would you want to change the way Device Manager displays it anyway?????

DOS games???? what are those?😉 I have mine disabled aswell.
Unless you play DOS games leave it disabled it saves your IRQ's and resources.

MCS:
Just like the devices listed in device manager looking clean n tidy, no yellow question marks or red crosses...

Now now you're just being picky 😉

Seriously though I dont think there's a lot you can do about that. If you remove it completely then Windows will just detect it again next time you boot up.
