SB Live 5.1/FPS 2000 trouble

I just installed a SB Live 5.1 in my new K7S5A/Athlon XP 1600+/Win XP system and can't get any sound out of the FPS 2000 speakers, using the digital DIN connection. Other cheap speakers work on the other ports, so I think I need to run a util to activate that DIN port or something. But when I try to run the Speaker portion of Audio HQ, I get a "found error, program needs to close" message and the app closes, every time. I tried switching PCI slots, updated to the latest XP drivers from Creative (released 11/27/01), and sent Creative an email.

Any ideas?
