I have been using the sb live for years and years and I was quite happy with it, but since Vista arrived on my computer I have nothing but problems, especially in games where I'm always loosing my 5.1 sound.

At this point Creative doesn't offer any support for the card and it's quite understandable, since it's some 7-8 years old or something. ;)

So my question for you guys would be: which is better, the sb live! 24 bit or the on board sound of a MSI P35 Neo2 - FR mobo? This comes, only from the gaming and music listening point of view.

EDIT: I use a 5.1 system from Hercules (XPS 5.100), that has 90W, not a very powerful and high quality system.

Onboard is likely better, to be honest.

It comes with the Realtex 888T, which isn't bad.

I can't believe it! The on board sound is much better then my old Creative card. Last time I've used Realtek was on a Nforce 4 mobo and it was horrible. The integrated sound has evolved a lot since then, it seems. :)
