which is better for all around performance?

They are both the same exact card. It's just the included software is different, so go by that.

Yeah...if you are a gamer....get the Gamer package because it comes with some games. If you are more of a music buff...get the MP3 package because it comes with MP3 software.

I would just save some $$$ and get the normal version.

Yeah. MP3 software is downloadable for free, and unless you really would buy those games anyway save some money and get an Audigy Value OEM card. Same exact card.

I thought the OEM version didn't have gold connectors.
