79 off shelf until 12/24. Use a coupon to bring down price more. I bought PNY 50 pack with free cdr wallet link to bring total to $100. Used 25 0ff 100 coupon and 15 dollar MIR on cd's to improve deal. Sound cards seem to be B&M deal only as they are still 99.00 on website. Bestbuy has same soundcards for 99.00 with $20 MIR. Possible price match or other creative method to get rebate? Bestbuy rebate ends on 12/22.

Recap

79.99 Audigy gamer
+ 19.99 PNY cds
+ .99 Diet coke (get total over $100)
- 25.00 25 off 100
- 15.00 15.00 MIR on cd's
-------------
60.97 Total

not bad for 50 cdr, cdr wallet, & Audigy Gamer!!!😎

actually the audigy x-gamer is 79.94 link but the mp3 is still 99.98 link on the staples website. So I guess you could do the same thing through the website if you order the x-gamer instead. The card is the same just the software bundle is different as I understand.

Coupon codes can be found at Ableshoppers DOT com. For some reason they will not print anymore, links are broken. Do a search on "Staples Coupons" in Yahoo or any search engine and you will find a variety. 25 off 100 codes still work, I wonder if you can stack with coupon for free cookies and tin, will try.

Lilstevo, good lookin out for us!!!! I swear I searched the website and the were all showing 99.98. Now I'm pissed, I had to drive all over to get the Audigy and I could have ordered from home!!! The MP3 was also 79.99 at B&M, so if anyone really wants that version, guess they could go to store.

Gamer comes with Giants: Citizen Kabuto and Deus Ex GOTY version plus other audio software. All these Audigy cards Have 1394 firewire connections on them, may save the hassle of buying seperate card. My firewire card cost 59.00 at time I bought.😀

This is a hot deal!! Just did it online for the x-gamer version. I was about to buy it oem from newegg, but it'd cost more and I wouldn't get the cdr's and wallet. 🙂

I forgot too add tax in the original post. Came out to be 66.00.

Just thinking out loud, if someone were to purchase one at Bestbuy and get rebate form and rebate receipt......then return card to Bestbuy and use receipts with this UPC code from Staples (it is manufacturer rebate), could possibly get another $20 MIR? Rebate ends today at Bestbuy. Not advocating......simply pondering.😉

Did any one go to the Staples B&M store yet. There seems to be a different Audigy Gamer. The one on the web site shows Audigy Gamer only while the one in the stores says Audigy X-Gamer and it is 99.

I actually bought mine at B&M. I am 100% certain they are the same. For some reason the picture does not use the "X" or it is lost in the image. Please notice that the red text says X-Gamer. If they were different I would have no idea what the difference could possibly be.

Kidfuzion, you are absolutely correct!!!! I am holding one of each box in my hands right now. I got the
X-Gamer from Staples and the Gamer from Bestbuy. They are even slightly different color boxes. I have read the entire box of both looking for a difference but I cannot find one. They both have same UPC code and model number (sb0090x). They have same features, requirements, and software bundles!!!! I thought that maybe X-Gamer came with XP drivers but both boxes say to download them from website. My best guess is that the "Gamer" came out first, then the name was changed to jump on the "extreme" or Win XP bandwagon (ya know.......Athlon XP, X-Gamer, Win XP). Not sure.

been searching and can't find the 25 off 100 b&m code (tried able), can you PM me or tell of a site where we can find it. thanx!

dnacard, I printed that from ableshoppers about 4 days ago and have been carrying it with me. The store kept the piece of paper and "validated" the coupon by putting it into printer on register, then kept it. I am also unable to find another printout coupon. All of the codes are working and you could just take a code into B&M and tell them it was emailed to you. Maybe that will work. If not, sorry, guess you have to get online.....shipping is free. I have been able to get salespeople to enter code in past. Another good coupon site is useacoupon dot com. Good Luck & Merry Christmas!!

i've also noticed that there are free things (such as the cookies) for orders over x amount for b&m, can you guys posts links for those, that'd be awesome. thanks once again

Dnacard,

Ableshopper has code for free 5" black & white tv. I have the B&M coupon for the free tin of cookies for purchases over $40.00. If you want it email me at chrisjor@excite.com with your email address, and I will forward it to you.

camara120,

The boxes show the exact same card model number. I have the SB Live 5.1, Mp3 and Gamer, and they are exactly the same!! I would assume these are also. The MP3 model has software which you can basically download for free from Creative website (at least most of it).😕

Is this card better than the Philips Acoustic Edge? I'm wondering because I just bought the AE yesterday and still have an opportunity to buy this instead.

I hope there are others who know, I would be interested also. The audigy is the most advanced Sounblaster out right now. It has 24 bit /100db SNR (?), a 1394 firewire port, Dolby 5.1, spdif connector, 2 games included, and a ton of games optimized for the EAX technology it uses. I have never owned a Phillips sondcard, so you would have to compare features and prices. If I had an opinion (I am no audiophile) I would rank:

1) Soundblaster
2) Turtle Beach (own a couple of these also)
3) Philips

I was just told by a Staples Rep. that the Gamer is the newer box out of the two. They said it had something to do with it looking more like a music card instead of a gamer's card with the X on it. I don't know if it is true but that was what I was told. Its weird though because if the Gamer is newer that the X-Gamer than why is the X-Gamer more expensive.

There is a $50 rebate from Maxtor for buying one of these type of audio card and a firewire harddrive until the end of the year. Troubles are that finding a maxtor firewire hd is almost impossible and they don't come cheap, compare to ata models. A 40 GB external model from Maxtor goes for $200 plus shipping.

Sal,

I have an AE sound card. Works great and Windows XP just came out with the driver for it. That said, If I'd bought the AE this week I'd return it and get the audigy card.

I'm assuming all the crappy creative driver problems with are no longer a problem.

Just bought one online with $30 off. Going save a PCI slot since I was going to add a Firewire card. Swore off Creative after my Live card sucked so bad caused so many lockups in Counterstrike.

I have also heard bad things about the Audigy drivers, and, in particular, its performance under Win2k/XP. Hope they have worked it out!🙂

Deal is even hotter if you go to Best Buy and price match it, then send in the rebate. No problem price matching at the one by me (Westwood, CA). Bought it earlier this week, and there were some drivver issues with XP (or it could be my AMD processor, but no way I'm giving up my XP1600), but it seem sto be working pretty well now.
