I need some of your wisdom O mighty anandtech gods!

Every time i play a video file, avi, mpeg, dvd. my computer BSOD and the error is trap_cause_unknown.

After a quick google search, people were saying its my creative sound blaster audigy se and some codecs. So i pulled it down and tried onboard sound. No problems. Tried in another computer same issue.

I have formated windows like 10 times. I have tried not installing any codecs and using vlc. same issue. I have tried pulling everythigh out but my video and this sound card. same issue. tried on 2 different computers. 2 totally different configurations.same issue

any ideas?

an update. I installed the soundcard using the driver wizzard instead of the setup installer (no software installed) and so far so good. any advice?

I would try crawling through the registry searching for Creative and manually deleting everything out, as well as any directories on the hard drive
