SB Audigy and Linux: Rear channel doesn't work

Electrode

I think the title almost says it all. I just set up the ALSA drivers for the SB Audigy, and although the front speakers and subwoofer of my 4.1 setup work, my rear speakers are silent. How do I get the rear channel working?

Specs:
Slackware 8
Kernel 2.4.18
ALSA 0.9 beta 12
Soundblaster Audigy MP3+
Klipsch ProMedia 4.1 speakers

if this gets to page 2 again without an answer, I'm changing the title to NFTS OR FAT32.
