SB Audigy 2 Platinum, Mediasource problem

I just installed an A2P, and everytime i try to use Creative's media source to use the remote, i get illegal operations when i load mulitple tracks! Anyone else getting this problem in WinXp?

I don't have that problem. I did have to uninstall the drivers for the Audigy2 Platinum and reinstall them because I got a crash when I installed the drivers the first time.

I also played some games (UT2k3 with the new patch, UT, MOHAA, and Max Payne) without any problems.

The only freakishly weird thing that I encountered is that my Norton AntiVirus 2002 does not work anymore--I have no idea how installing Audigy 2 drivers caused that. Also, I was discovered that I won't get to mess around with the 6.1 surround sound option using the ProMedia 5.1 and ProMedia 4.1 speaker systems as there is no physical way to attach the 2 speaker systems to from a single 6.1 system (apparently, you have to buy a true 6.1 speaker system--> Creative's).

I also had to install twice, weird. The first one crashed at the end and didnt' finish, but my norton 2k2 is fine...

So did anyone purchase the Audigy 2 and try out a 6.1 solution? Well, if you were thinking about it, unless you're going to purchase a true 6.1 speaker system (aka Creative's) it's not going to work. There is nothing included in the packaging that'll allow you to turn 2 speaker systems into a single 6.1 system.

Weird thing is, I can't find anything on the packaging or the very limited literature that states that you must purchase the Creative 6.1 speaker system to take advantage of 6.1 surround sound. :frown:

You don't, works fine on my HT system. I'm sure you can purchase any 4.1 and 2.1 system and combine them for a 6.1(.2) system.
