Ok folks, this is a really dumb and probably pretty simple question.
I've got the Soundblaster Live! 5.1 card (no live drive) and a brand new pair of Altec Lansing ATP5 gaming speakers. My wife got them both for me, and specifically got the speakers because they're digital capable.
Now then, the sound card only has one digital output (and front and rear analog outs) and the speakers have front and rear digital inputs and front and rear analog inputs.
I could hook these puppies up analog in a heartbeat, but I want to try and get digital out of them. I don't know my plugs and connectors well enough to know what kind of jacks I need or if I even have the right ones. I've got a buddy halfway across the country who has the same speakers and an older SB Live! without 5.1 and he says he's never gotten digital working right.
Any recommends? Or a link to a specific pic of the sort of connector we're talking about, I assume digital connectors are more involved than the typical red and white analog stereo connectors, but I could be wrong.
Thanks,
KF
