Say what you want about Apple, but..

I went into the Apple store this morning to see what my options were for replacing the shattered screen on my iPhone 4 (have no idea how it happened), and I walked out 5 minutes later with a free replacement, no hassle, no insurance, nothing.

Thanks Apple!

That's because it happens too effing easily with an Apple and if they didn't do that, they'd be facing class actions aplenty.

My Nokias have taken multiple tumbles that'd leave my iPhones - if they weren't swaddled like a baby - in dust.

They've discovered the magic formula for dealing with the dumb: Crap but pretty product, great (consumer) service.

Which reminds me - I have to get the broken back glass (this with a case, mind) and the failed speakers looked at.

I've my iPhone 4 on to tile and nothing broke. Quit making shot up troll.

The same thing happened to me, on my iPhone 3G.

Except I dropped it, drunk, and split the casing open around the mute switch. I played dumb ( "look, the casings coming apart here...I think that's why the switch doesn't work" ) and because it didn't have water damage, they replaced it.

I've thought about doing that with my current iPhone4. It has a couple of scratches -- nothing major -- but there's one scratch/quasi-crack around the home button that seems to have taken some of the sensitivity away from the home button (i.e. you now how to push it with purpose, and double-taps are more difficult). That one isn't my fault. If it gets worse, I'll take it in, hopefully for a replacement.

So, I guess my point is: I agree.

Apple does indeed rock!

I didn't drop it. Which is the problem.

Quit defending shit engineering because you can only think with your eyes.

I'm not saying it's a flawless product, but saying there's a constant fault in the phone glass is ignorant. If there were, then many... MANY more people would be claiming problems. I know a number of people with an iphone 4 and/or new ipod touch, yet I know of no single person who has broken glass. No product has 100% success rate.

Just because you were unfortunate and got one of the 5-10% with an issue doesn't mean it's a bad product. It's funny you brought up Nokia, as I've had a nokia screen crack on me. However I don't have the short-sighted audacity to claim it was an entire faulty product line.

it depends on the person
out of the 4 times i tried to replace my phone
3 worked and one didnt due to a really really inconvient customer service guy, i think he got fired...
